Welcome

When you come to Brazos Bluffs Ranch, with the natural beauty of its high bluffs and wooded valleys on the east bank of the Brazos River, it will feel more like a state park than the private working ranch that it is, only 10 miles from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

The only guest lodging on the ranch, a log vacation house built in 2011, with 2 master suites and a large sleeping loft, is furnished with most of the modern amenities of home. You will enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and peace and quiet of our ranch. You can hike up wooded trails to the rim of the 120’ vertical cliff rising above the Brazos River to catch a spectacular sunset. At dusk or dawn you might see wild turkeys, whitetail deer or other wild animals. Our vacation house and pavilion guests have access to the river for fishing and may use our canoes and kayaks for no additional fee.

Take a horseback ride along the Brazos River and up to the bluff overlooking the surrounding countryside, continuing along miles of scenic trails.

Our screened-in river pavilion with a patio and deck overlooking the Brazos River provide an ideal location for business or family retreats, reunions and receptions. We offer a volleyball net, horseshoe pits and ping pong table along with an outdoor BBQ pit and indoor kitchen.

Canoe between the farms and woods along the Brazos River, watching the birds and fishing for bass, catfish and other species. We provide canoes, kayaks, paddles and life jackets!

You might want to buy some all-natural beef and shelled pecans grown on our ranch.

Brazos Bluffs Ranch is located 5 miles west of I-35, half-way between Austin and Dallas-Ft.Worth, 3 hours from Houston and San Antonio, next to the popular Brazos de Dios farm of Homestead Heritage, an agrarian Christian community. You can tour its numerous historic structures, including its working Gristmill built in 1760, and the shops of its award winning craftsmen: pottery, woodworking, blacksmith, spinning and weaving. Its general store, craft campus and Cafe featuring all natural beef and locally grown grains and vegetables are open Monday through Saturday until 6:00 p.m. You may want to sign up for one of their many craft or homesteading workshops, e.g. cheese making or woodworking. See the schedule at SustainLife.org. You are also welcome to shop at the grocery store on their campus.
