This place is a gem in a country setting. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet, scenery, dark nights (only stars and moon for light), and taking a horse ride (really liked my horse, Pike) with leader, Lem. While enjoying the sun setting on the Cliff one evening, we were entertained by deer, wild bores and foxes below. Even though we sat in the rocking chairs on the front porch some mornings and evenings, we used the wood stove every day...toasty. Oh my, the bed was extra comfortable, unlike any hotel bed. We enjoyed eating at the local Cafe and was served with warm hospitality and delicious food! We had great customer service through Joel. We sure hope to return again to enjoy this gem of a place!
We had a fabulous time at the ranch. The home was neat and clean and beds were extremely comfortable. The home was beautiful and the location was very convenient to get to all the Baylor activities we came in for. We enjoyed our breakfast cooked over the open fire and would highly recommend it!
Beautiful cabin retreat on remote property. Quiet and peaceful with yummy bedding. A perfect place to unplug and spend with family.
My adult son had made most of the arrangements for myself, his younger brother, and fiancee. I didn't know much about where we were staying til we pulled up and I was just taken away with it all. The house is gorgeous with the wonderfully secluded feeling yet it's just a nice walk down to the river and stables or a short drive to Homestead Heritage. It has plenty of space. My young son really loved the loft and turned it into his own private area. The availability of the washer and dryer was a huge plus. Our stay was incredible. We ate at the Homestead Cafe everyday and sometimes twice a day. The food is delicious and I'm dying for some more of that Mandarin Orange Pie! We even had the chance to enjoy the Saturday Brunch. The family that runs the ranch is very courteous. We went on a nice trail ride with Namen. He did so well with my youngest son who had never ridden a horse before. We almost didn't know if we'd get him to this time but Namen took who for a walk around on the horse and got him comfortable. By the time we were finished with the trail ride my son wanted to go again on the more strenuous trail! Now he feels like an expect. It was more then just a vacation rental. It was an experience. Highly recommended.
This trip was extremely pleasant! The location is great, the vacation house is cozy, clean and has everything you need for a short or long stay. The owners are friendly and readily available when needed. The surroundings are astonishing and the calm, peaceful atmosphere is everywhere. This is an excellent place to recharge yourself!
We can't wait to come back. We highly recommend this place.
I just wanted to tell you my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at your guest ranch this past weekend. I don’t think we could of asked for better weather for being outdoors, and the guest house was so wonderful and relaxing- just what we needed for a weekend getaway. My parents also really enjoyed seeing the ranch for the first time, and I sure appreciate your flexibility with them coming at the last minute. They were very impressed with the hospitality of the people and facilities at Homestead Heritage. Also, Lem did a great job guiding us on the horse ride Saturday evening on the bluffs. That takes me back to the days I use to be a wrangler in high school for a camp in New Mexico-those were good times! Anyway, thank you again for your all your hospitality, and we’ll be back to see you when we get some free time!
Fabulous! Privacy and seclusion was a must for our family and BBR certainly provided a quiet "safehaven" for us to unwind and not be bothered by neighboring vacationers. Cabin was very nice, very clean and rested against a bluff across from the pond. The kitchen is beautiful and they also have a gas grill. Loved hearing the insects/animals at night including an owl which sounded very close. The Brown family that owns the property (cabin) were very respectful of our privacy. Our access to the Brazos River and Pavilion was exclusive. The property offered ample hiking trails, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking and fishing just to name a few. The community in the shops were very nice and helpful in answering questions about their craft and Cafe Homestead has great breakfasts and lunches. For us this was very fitting way to reconnect and get away. Highly recommend and would vacation here again!
A definite "must do" for the family or getaway. Just returned and looking at all of our pics and already missing the seclusion, serenity and reconnecting. Canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, nature hikes and just sitting by the river AND in the river made this trip relaxing and allowed us to unwind. Will highly recommend to family and friends. The exclusivity of the cabin and river made this an ideal trip for our family. Thank you to the Brown family who have really put their heart into this place. Looking forward to another trip. "
