  • What is your cancellation policy for horseback riding appointments?
    For $5/ticket you're able to purchase cancellation insurance, giving you the option to cancel and receive a full refund for any reason by calling us at least 4 hours before your activity start time. If you do not buy cancellation insurance, your reservation is non-refundable. If we deem the weather to be dangerous (lightning, extreme temperatures etc.), we encourage you to reschedule. There is not an extra charge to reschedule.
  • What is your weather policy?
    While the sky over Texas is normally bright and sunshiny of course it sometimes rains! We ride rain or shine unless there's flash flooding, lightning or hazardous trail conditions. Unless you hear from us, we will be ready for you at your scheduled time. Upon request, at your arrival, we provide rain slickers to help keep you dry if it is raining. If the weather is dangerous or too uncomfortable to ride horses in at the time of your ride, you have the option to reschedule within 6 months because we don't want you to miss out on the horseback riding experience. If you purchased cancellation insurance and decide to not ride because of bad weather, you will receive a full refund. If Brazos Bluffs cancels because of bad weather conditions, whether or not you purchased the insurance, we will give you a full refund.
  • What is the age limit for the trail rides?
    7 years old and older.
  • What do I need to wear?
    Closed toed shoes are requrired and long pants are recommended. Tennis shoes are ok. Cowboy boots are preferred.
  • What do I need to bring?
    We provide everything needed to ride horses. See "What do I need to wear?"
  • If I'm pregnant, can I ride a horse?"
    For safety reasons, we do not allow anyone to ride while pregnant.
  • Can someone with disabilities ride your horses?
    As a Certified Horsemanship Association accredited facility, we're able to accomodate most guests regardless of their previous horseback riding experience. However, all riders must be able to mount, dismount, start, steer and stop their own horse and be able to follow basic horseback riding safety instructions. If our guides deem a rider to be unable to safely ride a horse, we will not allow them to ride.
  • How many people can stay at Brazos Bluffs Ranch?
    We have two homes for nightly rental on the ranch about 3/4 of a mile apart from each other. One is a log home 1/4 mile from the Brazos River that sleeps up to 6. The other is a small one-bedroom cabin with one queen bed.
  • Can we bring bikes to the ranch?
    Bikes are not allowed because of the high risk involved with using bikes on the same trails as the horses.
  • What kind of fish are in the River?
    Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Carp.
