Equine Liability Warning
Pursuant to Texas Law (Chapter 87, Civil Practice and Remedies Code), an equine professional is not liable for injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities. By participating in horseback riding or any equine-related activity, you acknowledge and assume all risks associated with these activities.
Horseback Riding Provider
All horseback riding activities are provided exclusively by Brazos Bluffs Stables, LLC on Brazos Bluffs Ranch. Brazos Bluffs Ranch does not own horses or provide guiding services.
High-Risk Activity Acknowledgment
Horseback riding is a high-risk activity involving inherent dangers, including but not limited to:
- Unpredictable horse behavior
- Natural terrain hazards
- Sudden terrain changes
- Wildlife encounters
- Environmental conditions such as extreme weather
All participants must acknowledge and accept these risks prior to participation.
Waiver Requirement
All participants must sign a liability waiver before participating in any horseback riding activity.
If the participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver on their behalf.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before your scheduled ride time.
- Cancellations within 72 hours of ride time are non-refundable.
- No-shows or late arrivals forfeit the booking and will not receive a refund.
Weather Policy
We will never ask guests or horses to ride in unsafe or miserable conditions. If we determine conditions are unsafe or unreasonably unpleasant, we will cancel the ride. Weather decisions are typically made as close to ride time as possible, once conditions can be accurately assessed. If we cancel due to weather, you will receive a full refund.
Weight and Rider Restrictions
- Weight Limit: Riders must not exceed
225 pounds.
- Age Restrictions: Please refer to specific activity descriptions for age limitations.
- Pregnancy: Pregnant riders are not permitted to participate.
- Guest Eligibility & Safety Policy: Horseback riding is an outdoor activity involving large animals, uneven terrain, and situations that require balance, coordination, and the ability to follow instructions at all times.
For the safety of our guests and horses, riders must be able to:
- Mount and dismount with limited assistance
- Maintain independent balance while the horse is in motion
- Follow verbal directions from guides
- Remain in control of their body movements during the ride
All safety briefings and guide instructions are conducted in English. Riders must be able to understand and respond to spoken
English instructions without translation assistance.
By booking an activity, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these terms and conditions, including all liability waivers, cancellation policies, and activity restrictions outlined above.
